CM – Notre Dame Cathedral is slated to reopen in 2024, but without a roof

The flames had barely been extinguished before President Macron promised on national television that Notre Dame would be rebuilt within five years in time for the Paris Olympics.

Macron will be tomorrow, the second anniversary of the Fire, which destroyed its roof and tower, and covered the 12th century building with dust and soot, returned to the cathedral, but his aspirations were lowered.

Jean-Louis Georgelin, the retired general who was headed by the head of state blamed for the project no longer speaks of completing the restoration of the world’s most famous cathedral for the 2024 Olympics.

His goal now is to make sure it opens this year, even if the arduous work is continued.
