World news – Almost 1 million likes in less than 24 hours for PM’s picture from Calcutta


A picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from his visit to Kolkata received almost 1 million likes on Facebook in less than 24 hours.

The Prime Minister was in Calcutta yesterday to celebrate the freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose on his birthday Pay tribute.

« Reached Kolkata to pay tribute to Netaji Bose, » read the caption, which has received over 1 million likes, 14,000 shares and 47,000 comments to date.

The Prime Minister first visited that Netaji Bhawan and later shared the stage with Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, for an event organized to pay tribute to Subhash Chandra Bose.

In Netaji Bhawan, the prime minister became the prime minister of the great nephews of freedom fighter Sugato Bose and his brother Sumantro visited Bose, the Press Trust of India reported. He was also accompanied by the Governor of West Bengal, Jagdeep Dhankhar.

PM Modi was shown the « Wanderer Car » used by Netaji. He was also given a brief tour of the museum, which houses the photographs of Azad Hind Fauj and the table used by Netaji in Singapore.

Later, at an event in the city’s Victoria Memorial Hall, PM Modi held one Address and said that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose would have been proud to see the country become strong and follow its mark from the Line of Control (LoC) to the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
