A koala rescue group from South Australia believed they were the victim of a prank call this week after receiving reports that a koala made itself at home in a resident’s Christmas tree.
An Adelaide woman found the koala in the living room Christmas tree and decided to call emergency services to persuade him.
Adelaide Hills Koala Rescue went on Facebook to share photos of festive marsupials and said it was « desperate to get in the Christmas spirit ». .
The post received hundreds of comments, with people calling the whole situation « adorable » and others calling the koala « the most beautiful decoration on a Christmas tree ». .
Rescuers confirmed that the curious koala was female and has since been removed from the wrong tree and will now return to a real gum tree.
