World News – AU – Clean Teq (ASX: CLQ) starts the year with new contracts – The Market Herald

. .

Industrial water treatment company Clean Teq (CLQ) has received two new water treatment contracts in Queensland and Oman.

Clean Teq received an order worth over 2 million US dollars from the Mackay Regional Council to modernize a drilling water treatment plant in Koumala, Queensland.

In addition, CLQ will introduce a gas chlorination system to remove hardness and lower the salinity of the existing drilling water supply. Ultimately, this will reduce the fouling of pipes and improve the taste in Koumala’s water supply.

Clean Teq will take care of the planning, procurement, construction and commissioning of the facility including subcontracting for construction work. The work program is expected to start in the first quarter of 2021 and run through the end of the year.

At the end of 2019, Clean Teq announced that Multotec, the company’s sales and delivery partner in Africa, had received an order to design, purchase and build a wastewater treatment system in an antimony processing plant in Oman.

The water treatment plant designed and supplied by Clean Teq includes the company’s DesalX technology, chemical precipitation and reverse osmosis to recycle water for reuse on site. The water treatment plant is designed to remove a number of harmful elements from up to 200 tons of wastewater per day.

Clean Teq announced today that it has received an order to perform the detailed design for an upgrade of this water treatment plant. Changes in the upstream antimony processing plant have led to a higher salt load and increased arsenic, antimony and selenium concentrations in the water. The upgrade focuses on neutralizing the waste for easier recycling.

Sam Riggall, Managing Director and CEO of Clean Teq, explains: “Our water business continues to build on the successes of the past year. «

« Having demonstrated our ability to design, build, and commission our highly effective proprietary water treatment systems in a number of different applications, our focus is now shifting to revenue growth, » he continued.

Melbourne-based Clean Teq sent shareholders on a wild ride in 2020, hitting a low of 10. 5 cents in March before bouncing to 38 highs. 5 cents in September.

Clean Teq is up 8 percent at the start of today’s session and is trading at 27 cents at 10:06 a.m. AEDT.
