Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers attorney Chris Hovan is on trial in Pinellas County, Fla. On Monday for DUI and child neglect, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Hovan was run over and was reportedly showing « signs of impairment, » the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office told the Times. Hovan got a breathalyzer and supposedly blew between a . 309 and . 315, more than three times the legal limit.

Hovan has been arrested on charges of DUI and neglect of criminal offenses for allegedly disabled driving with a child in a car. The child was reportedly in the passenger seat when Hovan was run over. The child was not injured.

After being selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2000 draft, Hovan enjoyed a 10-year career in the NFL. He played in Minnesota for five years and joined the Buccaneers for his last five seasons.

After his retirement in 2009, Hovan has been involved in several worrying incidents. In 2015, Hovan was arrested on a DUI charge. In 2018, on domestic violence allegations, Hovan was ordered to stay away from his family.
