Harry Maguire wants Manchester United to correct the injustice of a “strange statistic” that saw four away Premier League wins this season after falling behind.
The Red Devils have had an impressive run of form on their travels. Eight wins in a row in the English top league were collected – a new club record.
They are also the first team to score maximum points in four consecutive games on the street where they fell behind.
Maguire claims she didn’t notice these historic achievements, but admits that the Red Devils made life difficult for themselves.
With this in mind, the United States captain is looking for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s crew to break out of the blocks and remove the need for touching setbacks.
The England international told MUTV after seeing Edinson Cavani’s brace in a 3-2 win at Southampton make an impressive turnaround and make United a new entry in the history books: “Well, that knew not me.
« I think they say we have to score the first goal to help us a little! It’s a strange statistic to hear.
« I don’t think we’re starting out badly at games. Everton, we started the game really well. [Against Southampton] we started very well.
“We may concede bad goals in bad moments, but we show great resilience, spirit and character, which this squad has in abundance.
“We work tirelessly on the training ground, we want to do so well for this club, we want to be a success, we want to win trophies and that’s what this club is all about. If we don’t, we’ll have to drive more. It comes from hunger and spirit.
United will be away from home for the next Premier League game. There will be a trip to West Ham on Saturday.
Previously, Solskjaer’s team had to play a highly anticipated Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 defending champions are expected at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
