She said the « disruptive incidents » caused a « chronic physical condition » that she still has. She said she was isolated and « sometimes destructive » about it.
The complex and nuanced role of Carpenter as Cordelia in three seasons of Buffy and four of Angel made her a fan favorite. Her character’s death to Angel was widely criticized by fans of teen drama.

« He attacked my character, mocked my religious beliefs, accused me of sabotaging the show and released me without further ado the following season as soon as I was born, « she said.
Carpenter said she only endured the abuse because she wanted to care for her future child as the main breadwinner of her family.
She said these incidents occurred during one of the « best » times as a new mom.
Carpenter’s allegations come a month after Warner Media completed an investigation into Whedon’s behavior on the Justice League set.The investigation was sparked by allegations made last July by actor Ray Fisher that Whedon’s « treatment of the Justice League cast and crew on set was harsh, abusive, unprofessional and completely inaccurate eptable was « .
Warner Media said that » corrective action « was taken following the investigation but the company did not provide specific information. Fisher was recently released as a cyborg from the upcoming DC movie The Flash.
Carpenter said she participated in the investigation and considers « Ray to be a person of integrity who tells the truth ». She said his shot from The Flash was « the last straw ».
« I now hope to finally be able to talk about these experiences, to make room for the healing of others who I know are similar serialized abuses of power have experienced, « she said.
