World News – CA – Ariana Grande made a Mac Miller secret reference on her « Positions » album

. .

Ariana Grande may have put a secret clue about her late ex-Mac Miller on her new album Positions, and fans are just realizing it.

Well, one fan in particular noticed it – a TikToker who passed @ maraleebell – but now more have taken notice and they’re getting emotional.

The reference is made over two songs. The first is on « Positions » when Grande sings, « Heaven sent you to me, » and the second is on « Just Like Magic » when she says, « Take my pen and write some love letters in the sky. Faint crickets can be heard in the background while Grande sings these lyrics, both of which have to do with heaven. But what does that mean, you ask?

Well, Miller happens to have a song called “Crickets. ”(According to Genius, it is unpublished. )

As @maraleebell points out, this might be a coincidence, but Grande’s music is incredibly personal and she mentioned Miller before so there are precedents in place. Check out the TikTok below to hear this explanation in full.

Like I said, this maybe reference definitely hits fans hard. « The fact that Ariana Grande plays a cricket sound every time she sings the word heaven in memory of Mac for his crickets makes me so sad that no one will talk to me for the rest of my life, » one person tweeted.

Ariana Grande wrote a touching tribute to Mac Miller after he passed away in 2018. « I have adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will, » she wrote. « I can’t believe you’re not here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about it. so often. I’m so angry, I’m so sad that I don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. for so long. above all. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take away your pain. I really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons that he never deserved. I hope you are fine now. rest. ”
