TV host says she considered suicide in 2019 after feeling overwhelmed by life’s struggles

Andrea wrote her darkest moments in her new book This Girl is on Fire – with host Ruth Langsford revealing her co-star was considering suicide while presenting the segment

Speaking frankly, Andrea, 50, said: « It’s scary to write a book about it because you are literally stinging a wound that you managed to heal

« I have a notebook that I take everywhere and I wrote the prologue on the floor of my bedroom after a call from a friend who complained about the same things she has had for years

« I was like this is happening This book is for women who are stuck and doing nothing – it’s getting better »

Revealing how it was her stint on a TV show that started its downward spiral, Adrea continued, « What happened to me was I went on SAS Who Dares Wins

« When this bag was ripped off, it was as if my mask had been ripped off »

She added: « What I was going through when I came back was all the traumatic things that I had in my life that I had moved, put in a box and thought I had. treated returned

Concerned with making sure her friend and co-star is on the right track, Janet Street Porter probed: « You always presented that face that everything is under control But now I know you were falling apart behind the curtain

Andrea replied: « I know I introduce myself as Mrs Stepford’s wife and I don’t just do that anymore

« Partly I didn’t want people to dislike me, but now I don’t care if people like me or not

« I also say now if I’m not happy or start to feel weird we tend to put other needs ahead of our own, but now if I’ve overbooked for a day I will say and say that I have to take a step back «
