Romelu Lukaku made a notable comeback in the second half as Inter rebounded from 2-0 down to beat Turin 4-2 and win the first for almost a month.
Marco Giampaolos Torino came into play with a lone Serie A win this season, but made a meager return when bubbly Simone Zaza topped off an enterprising first-half performance with the first goal.
A penalty from former Inter man Cristian Ansaldi scored in the 62. Minute the 2-0, although Alexis Sanchez quickly reduced the deficit.
Sanchez turned Lukaku into 67. Minute into an equalizer, and the Belgian star stayed cool with six minutes left of regular time before Lautaro Martinez got off the bench and scored four shots on goal and four goals for Inter in a crazy second half.
Inter struggled throughout the opening period and had a break when Alessandro Bastoni pulled Zaza off after a goal, only the Turin striker was punished for handball.
Conte’s men could claim no shortage of fair warning as Zaza clung to Soualiho Meite’s rear wheel in added time and shot a brilliant left-footed shot past Samir Handanovic.
Despite resuming on the forefoot, Inter reached the hour without testing Salvatore Sirigu in Torino goal. At this point her task became steeper.
After a long delay and VAR review, Ashley Young was rightly punished for kicking Wilfried Stephane Singo in the chest when he misjudged a clearance and Ansaldi dropped his penalty in the middle of the goal.
That brought Inter belatedly to life when Lukaku drove into Torino defense and hit the crossbar before bothering himself so badly in the ensuing fight that Sanchez hit an unguarded net.
Turin was suddenly shaken and after Lukaku hit the outside of the post, he patted Sanchez’s low cross.
Nicolas Nkoulou was the youngest defender to kick meat – in his case Achraf Hakimi – rather than the ball. The VAR call was consistent so Lukaku sent Sirigu in the wrong direction.
The ex-Manchester United then linked up with Ivan Perisic on the sweeping move that put Martinez on the scoreboard via an easy finish.

Antonio Conte has looked increasingly irritable lately. Inter’s earlier win came on Jan.. October in Genoa. There will still be many questions unanswered as his team was completely down for an hour, but the Nerazzurri are again one point ahead of champions Juventus in Serie A and only three shrinking from surprise leader Sassuolo.
Much of the criticism of Conte has focused on the impact of his complaints about the options available to him when considering one of the most lavish upholstery squads in Europe. He rolled Perisic, Martinez, Stefan de Vrij, Radja Nainggolan and Milan Skriniar off the bench when Turin collapsed in the last half hour. Christian Eriksen watched unused.
If some of the names on the squad list have not always contributed to their reputation, that charge cannot be made against Lukaku. The striker’s impressive combination of strength and intelligent precision forced Turin apart at the seams. He finished a virtuoso performance with two goals from two shots on goal and two assists, with only Sanchez scoring more than his three key passes.
If Lukaku is a sure thing these days, such reliability labels were never simply put on the Mercury zaza. The well-traveled striker showed his shining best at times, with a bizarre early sequence where he squeezed the ball in the chest for an overhead kick, completely missed him, but still got a shot while showing that inimitable on his butt he was in the mood.
The former Juventus and Valencia striker shot seven shots, although only two that found the target spoke of what could have been.
Inter are hoping to revive their ailing Champions League season when they host Real Madrid on Wednesday. Turin has a game with significantly less box office draw a day later than they welcome Virtus Entella to the Coppa Italia.
