Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Sunil Narine has had his bowling action cleared and removed from the IPL warning list

Narine was reported for suspected suspicious action shortly after Kolkata’s victory over XI Punjab Kings on October 10 and another such report could have led to his ban on bowling in the tournament

The IPL said in a statement on Sunday that the 32-year-old was cleared by the competition’s Suspect Bowling action committee

The statement read: « KKR requested a formal assessment of M’s action Nostril at IPL Suspect Bowling Action Committee, submitting slow motion action sequences with back and side angles

« The Committee carefully reviewed all deliveries of action sequences sent to M Nostril with the naked eye and came to the conclusion that the curvature of the elbow appears to be within the range of allowable limits »

Narine hasn’t played since that victory over Kings XI, missing Kolkata’s defeats to the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, then Sunday’s clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad

The West Indians reshaped his action after being reported twice in the T20 Champions League in 2014, but was again reported in the IPL 2015 and also after a one-day game against Sri Lanka the same year

Narine was reported once again during the 2018 Pakistani Super League, but each time it was reported that he was subsequently cleared to play bowling
