World News – UA – Eagles duo finish top of table for WA

If the Brownlow medal votes are anything to go by, Eagles Tim Kelly and Dom Sheed have had the best season of any player in Western Australia

The duo finished tied in the medal count with 11 votes, one skipperless from Fremantle and two-time Brownlow medalist Nat Fyfe

The trio had at least 20 votes behind the winner Lachie Neale who ended the evening with 31 votes

Surprisingly, one of the favorites for tomorrow night’s John Worsfold medal, Nic Naitanui, finished with just five Brownlow votes – one vote in the fifth round victory over Sydney, two votes in the ninth victory round against Geelong and two votes in victory over Sydney St Kilda on the 17th round

Eagle Andrew Gaff and Elliot Yeo finished with eight votes, although Yeo missed the end of the season

All Australians Luke Ryan got six votes to be the highest ranked defender of both WA teams

All Australian fellow Brad Sheppard failed to register a vote for Brownlow – but was invited to the prestigious event Teammates Jeremy McGovern (two) and Tom Barrass (three – better on floor against Essendon) were the only Eagle defenders to win votes
