World News – UK – James Gunn teases major DC character deaths in ‘The Suicide Squad’

Suicide Squad director James Gunn has teased a few possible character kills in his upcoming reboot

Guardians of the Galaxy director to lead DC franchise after David Ayer’s previous portrayal of the collective villain, with original stars such as Margot Robbie and Viola Davis returning

Comparing the film to the Guardians, Gunn hinted to Empire that there would be deaths to come, saying, « I think you know, very near the beginning, that all Guardians are good – except Nebula, who is the aberrant

« But in The Suicide Squad some of the characters end up being good, some end up being terrible They don’t just fight and say they’re going to kill each other, they fight and kill each other You really don’t know who will live and who will die I had full freedom to kill anyone – and I mean anyone – by DC «

Despite the largely negative reception for the 2016 film, Gunn had praise for Ayer, especially his casting choices. “Look, David Ayer had issues for the film,” he said. know that’s not the way David wanted it to come out

« But he did a really, really good thing, was he picked some fantastic actors to work with, and he dealt with those actors to build their characters in a really deep and fearless way. This is something David deserves to be praised for, and it is definitely added to this film «

Gunn also pointed out that his next film was « his own thing », adding, « This doesn’t contradict the first film, I don’t think It might in some ways… I don’t know… »

Along with Robbie, Davis, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman, The Suicide Squad will also star Idris Elba, Pete Davidson, John Cena, Sean Gunn, Mayling Ng and more, and is set for release on August 6, 2021.
