World News – US – Patrick Surtain Highlights Process of Being a Cold-Blooded CB in Alabama

As one of the best to ever play the position in the National Football League, people lock in when Patrick Surtain talks about the importance of being a cold-blooded cornerback

He is originally from New Orleans (La), but Surtain spent 11 seasons in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins (1998-04) and Kansas City Chiefs (2005-08)

His career included three Pro Bowl trips and an All-Pro NFL First Team honor in 2002, but he lent his voice and knowledge of the position to a much bigger goal on Friday.

With his son, Patrick Surtain II, featured in a stunning promo for Alabama’s Week 5 game against Tennessee, Surtain explained why corners must play with an advantage by playing against the fastest receivers and the best an opponent has to offer, cornerbacks have to fend for themselves Most would qualify isolation as an island, but Surtain sees it as an iceberg

“The icy water in our veins ensures that we are not affected by the crowd, the opponent or the last game,” Surtain said in the video “When the heat rises, an average turn fades away But adults will stay cool under pressure «

As a junior for the Crimson Tide, Surtain locked his end of the field

He has two break-ups to pair with his 14 tackles and held George Pickens (Ga) to 53 yards receiving five catches

His father’s professional career ended with 538 tackles, 37 interceptions, seven forced fumbles, seven fumbles recovered, 75 sacks and two touchdowns

He was trained hard by his father at Heritage High School (Plantation, Fla), but now the son of a legend has another week in the Southeastern Conference to shut down a point guard

Surtain takes on the Volunteers’ Josh Palmer on Saturday, as he continues to push for a first-round draft supply
