Bruce Willis reprized his role as John McClane from Die Hard for a new hit car battery commercial

The actor last appeared onscreen as a detective in A Good Day To Die Hard, directed by John Moore in 2013

Now Willis is back as the beloved action hero in an advertisement for Advance Auto Parts’ new DieHard batteries The two-minute ad sees McClane struggling to start his car and say to himself,  » Well you wanted a quiet life John Batteries exhausted, streets empty « 

When he leaves his car, however, he is confronted by a number of his former enemies, determined to stop him as he retrieves a battery from a nearby Advance Auto Parts and returns to his car for install the new part

As an excavator driven by villainous Theo is detonated by McClane’s grenade, limo driver Argyle yells, « Yippee ki yay! »

The late Alan Rickman claimed people spat on him because he played a terrorist in the original Bill & Ted star Alex Winter recalled the story in an interview earlier this year, saying Rickman told him he was lucky he was « known to play Bill and not Hans Gruber the terrorist – people come up to me and spit in my face »
