WHITE PLAINS – A 16 counts indictment was overturned Tuesday in which 18 members of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang for extortion, murder, narcotics, firearms and fraud.
A gang member, Brandon Soto, also known as « Stacks », is alleged to be in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old boy in Poughkeepsie on Jan.. Indicted September 2020.
« As alleged in the indictment, members of Gorilla Stone have committed horrific acts of violence, drug trafficking and even brazen fraud by taking advantage of benefit programs designed to help in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, » Acting US said – Lawyer Audrey Strauss. “Because of this, churches across the southern district – from Poughkeepsie to Peekskill to New York City – have suffered. Most shockingly, as alleged in the indictment, a minor was murdered in order to promote the gang’s activities. ”
Poughkeepsie City Police Chief Tom Pape, the federal, state and local partnerships “are proof that working with authorities at every level of law enforcement helps identify those responsible for the heinous murder of one 15 year olds in our city bring streets to justice. ”
On 20. In July 2020, Stephen Hugh shot rival gang members in New Rochelle to maintain and expand his position with the Gorilla Stone corporation in the southern district.
On 12. On June 6th, 2020, Naya Austin, Dezon Washington and Jordan Ingram committed a robbery at gunpoint against a competing drug dealer in Poughkeepsie in an attempt to maintain or increase their position in the gang.
On 28. August 2018, Brinae Thornton shot a rival gang member in Brooklyn to maintain and improve her position in the gang.
On 12. On January 1st, 2018, Robert Woods mutilated and assaulted a person with a dangerous weapon and aided in the crime by slapping the person in the face.
In August 2020, Austin and Shanay Outlaw illegally used other people’s ID cards to file fraudulent claims for COVID-19-related unemployment benefits and helped with the crime.
