The collision of two strong weather systems over NSW's east coast on Monday evening could lead to further evacuations.
The Bureau of Meteorology has described the weather that is currently whipping parts of New South Wales as fleeting, dangerous and dynamic. Another severe weather warning was issued last night at 11:00 PM, and for the northern ones Rivers, the central north coast, the metropolis Hunter Sydney and Illawarra as well as the central plateaus are expected to have heavy rain and flash floods. The SES has new evacuation warnings for the Hawkesbury River, Gronos Point, the Pitt Tow Bottoms and North Richmond, Cornwallis and Pitt Town North. An evacuation alert is in place for low-lying areas in Freemans Reach and residents are encouraged to monitor the SES website for updates. After 10:00 p.m. last night, the SES received 180 calls for help and carried out 25 flood rescues. Since Thursday, over 5,000 calls for help have been sent to the SES and 617 flood rescues have been carried out.
